Hi, Welcome to the TRIP AROUND AUSTRALIA website

Arrival

Saturday 8 September 2012

Hi everyone,

Yes, around 1PM on Saturday 8 September 2012, and after being for 63 days on my motorcycle, I arrived back in Sydney. A small group of riders and drivers picked me up from Austinmer, and after a great breakfast at Austie Cafe, rode with me to the Sydney Opera House. Thank you for your commitment and your enthusiasm, I really enjoyed your company on my last section of my Trip Around Australia.

When we arrived at the Opera House a large group of many women and men in PINK welcomed me. It was great to see you all, and thank you for coming to the Sydney Opera House! For all those who have followed me on Facebook or my website, I just want to thank you for your interest.

J

I have been riding in memory of my beautiful partner Nicole and to promote the work of Breast Cancer Network Australia. If you have not yet donated, maybe now is a good time to do it. It’s really a great cause!

To those who have followed me, I just want to say:”Thanks”.

During my trip around Australia the Ulysses Club and I have been working together to promote the work of BCNA.

MY PERSONAL MOTIVATION

This ride will be a most personal experience. I know there will be mornings where I feel it is too hard to get out of bed and ride another couple of 100kms through dust, rain, cold or heat. But then I remind myself it’s not that hard.

Not as hard as what my partner went through: The radiotherapy, chemotherapy, the blood transfusions, the pain, the incapacity, and then the fear. She took it all in her stride, and she always reminded us to ‘celebrate each day’.

She always quoted:

As yesterday is in the past, tomorrow may only be the product of today
